Theodore Reference

Alright, this is Theodore, a lil’ spider-pony originating from the Badlands, but currently lives in Ponyville (//gasp// What? A common place??).

Stuff about Theodore:

• Age: Adult (Roughly 25-30 in human years.)
• Sex: Stallion
• Height: Average
• Sexual Orientation: Asexual
• Occupation: Studies many poisons/venoms and aids in the local hospital with these specific cases.
• Personality: Outgoing, rarely has a filter, enjoys helping anyone that asks, accepting of others, and is an open book.
• Likes: Walking the busier streets, making bad jokes (ex: dead foals and puns), meeting strangers and learning something simple about them, hay fries, juggling, shades of purple/dark pinks, and chugging down a cup o’ cider.
• Dislikes: Quiet areas (occasionally), finding somepony upset, ponies complaining about how difficult their lives are, his fluff being torn out/tangled, having to dress up for special occasions, bright/neon colors, and something ruining the good mood.
• “Fun” Facts:
• Is an omnivore. (All spider-ponies are.) Because he craves meat, he’ll fight the craving with greasy/sweet foods.
• He is of the first generation of spider-ponies, and had moved to Ponyville when he was a young adult.
• He was a “mindless zombie” before he was allowed to live in Equestria, having killed several innocent ponies. He’s repressed the memories, and hopes to forget them entirely.
• A spider-pony’s venom illuminates, mainly being a brighter shade of their eye color. (Theodore dislikes seeing his own venom.)
• He’s had to deal with many ponies performing hate crimes (is that the right term?) towards him for believing he would harm them when he first moved to Ponyville, but it all settled after a year or so.
• If he becomes nervous enough, he’ll bite his leg so much, it will bleed.
• Has a messed up sleep schedule from the odd work days, and can’t determine when it’s day or night on occasion.
• Adores seeing fillies and colts happy, especially when he finds them having to spend several days in the hospital. (Hence, the juggling.)

About the beginning/origin of spider-ponies: (100 OR MORE YEARS IN THE FURTUE TYPE OF AU!)

Curious Critter was an earth pony that traveled into the Badlands with her partner, Patch Up, in hopes of finding a new species of insect. Instead, a rare spider was found, which quickly bit her and escaped. Patch attempted using his supplies, along with his magic, in hopes of curing her. It, of course, was unhelpful.

Instead of it killing her, the venom morphed her body to be able to produce more. Throughout the months of her transformation, many ponies felt worried she would infect others, so Celestia and Luna felt it would be best if she were to be banished to the Badlands, hoping she would be able to not be harmful to anypony in Equestria.

Not long after, Critter found herself losing her mind, from the pain of the process and having no one to rely on for aid while she wandered aimlessly. She felt as though everypony betrayed her, and began plotting to infect all of Equestria, letting them understand what she went through.

This is when she begins reproducing her colony(?) of spider-ponies, sneaking back into Equestria and kidnapping stallions to do the diddly-doo that spiders do. It took over a year for the first generation of spider-ponies to be born. A few hundred of them attempted many times to invade, attacking nearby towns or anypony they found. Though their numbers were small, they had many attributes, such as their quick movement (reflexes??), thread and/or sticky webs, and their fangs containing the venom to morph them. (Note: The term for a pony being bitten and transformed is Infected. Stupid, but yeah.)

With very few options, the princesses agree to offer a peace treaty to the young spider-ponies before declaring war. The treaty simply stated that they were given the option to live in Equestria if they restrained from causing another pony to become Infected and found ways to help in their community around them. Many jumped on board, while others remained loyal to Critter, or the Spider Queen (Hella creative, right?).
